From air traffic control to artificial intelligence, this seminar was all about navigating the digital frontier.

The afternoon kicked off with a behind-the-scenes tour of the RCIPS Air Operations Unit and the Air Traffic Control Tower at Owen Roberts International Airport. Participants got a rare look at the tech that keeps Cayman’s skies safe and efficient—an impressive fusion of aviation, data, and real-time decision-making.

The evening seminar, hosted at EY in Camana Bay, brought together three standout tech leaders. Alee Fa’amoe, CTO at Cayman Enterprise City, shared insights on building a thriving tech ecosystem—from regulatory reform to nurturing local talent. His work is helping position Cayman as a serious player in the global innovation space.

Timothy Adam, a telecoms veteran and former CEO of Cable & Wireless, offered a historical lens on Cayman’s digital transformation. From rotary phones to fiber optics, his perspective highlighted how far the islands have come—and what’s needed to stay ahead.

Pieta Brown, Deloitte’s Generative AI Lead for the Caribbean, brought the future into focus. Her session explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, and how Cayman can harness its potential while navigating ethical and regulatory challenges.

Breakout sessions buzzed with discussion on everything from cybersecurity and data protection to AI-driven disruption, blockchain regulation, and the urgent need for tech education and workforce development. Participants explored how Cayman can remain competitive in a region where digital infrastructure, talent pipelines, and innovation policy are becoming key differentiators.

The seminar also spotlighted the role of Cayman Tech City, OfReg, and local firms like Netclues and CRO:NYX in building a digitally resilient economy. With over 175 tech companies now operating in Cayman’s special economic zones, the momentum is real—but so are the challenges.

From submarine cable upgrades to AI ethics, the message was clear: Cayman’s digital future depends on bold leadership, smart regulation, and a commitment to inclusive innovation.
