The local population growth, combined with an influx of tourists, has necessitated fast-paced development which has placed pressure upon the islands’ infrastructure The aim of the seminar was to gain a better understanding of the Cayman Islands’ infrastructure and development; past, present and future, by having the opportunity to engage in dialogue with prominent experts and decision makers within these sectors.

There was a tour of Oral Roberts International Airport. Following dinner, the seminar took place in the Cayman Airports Authority (CIAA) offices located on the second floor. there were breakout sessions,

Presenters and panelists included Mr. Johann Moxam (Partner, Lainston International Management /  Chairman, Board of Directors CIAA / Deputy Chairman, Board of Directors CIMA) Mr. Daniel DeFinis (CEO, Davenport Development Ltd), and Mr. Gary Gibbs, Sr. Vice President of Design and Construction, DART.

The evening's seminar explored the challenges associated with balancing infrastructure needs and sustainable development within our community and how the government, private sector and stakeholders respond to such challenges. There was a focus on the future for the Cayman Islands and how knowledge can be applied from the past few decades locally, together with global experience, to ensure the success of our nation for future generations.
