with a focus on mental health. The class were able to gain in-depth understanding of how mental illness has become a growing healthcare concern in our community and learn more about how Human Services are coping with these challenges. Topics under discussion included current and future opportunities for support, prevention and rehabilitation from the Government, NGOs and the Private Sector.

The group began with a tour of Aspire Therapeutic Services located on Eastern Avenue a specialist psychological health provider offering psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention. After dinner at Butterfield Place, the class was introduced to Keynote Speaker Dr. Marc Lockheart, Psychiatrist, and panelists Hon. Sabrina Turner, MP, Minister for Health, Wellness & Home Affairs, Dr. Michael Gayle, Chief Executive Officer for CINICO, and Dr. Erica Lam, Clinical Consultant with the Alex Panton Foundation.

Participants separated into three groups for the breakout sessions, enabling each group to spend 40 minutes with each panelist who were rotated between the groups. Breakout sessions are designed to give participants the chance to interact closely with leaders in each field, gaining knowledge and in-depth understanding. Following the breakout sessions, there was an open panel discussion when the whole group was able to ask questions, before an informal debriefing session at the Sand Bar.
